with Gen Kelsang Choma

A special annual retreat on the practice of the Long Life Buddha, Amitayus.

Topic

Buddha Amitayus Practice

Every year, many Kadampa centers organise pujas, retreats, teachings and empowerments of Buddha Amitayus.

'Amitayus' means 'Infinite Life' and signifies that by relying on this holy being we will not only overcome the dangers of untimely death in this life, but eventually through Tantric practice attain the pure illusory body - a vajra body that is permanently free from ageing, sickness and death.

By engaging in the practice of Buddha Amitayus we also accumulate profound wisdom and extensive merit.

We dedicate all these practices to the very long life of the holy Spiritual Guide, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, with prayers for him to remain with us for a very long time continuously benefiting the people of this world by spreading pure Kadam Dharma.
